I’m lucky enough to have a job doing something that started out as a hobby. I still shoot for fun all the time. It helps me become a better professional and keeps things fresh and fun.

Pacific Coast Highway Road Trip

Pacific Coast Highway Road Trip

We took this trip 6 months ago and I’m just now revisiting all the photos. Oh, how I miss it there. Ben and I have both visited CA in the past, but there is nothing like seeing it on the road.  Especially the beautiful Pacific Coast Highway.  After spending a couple days in San Francisco, we begin the slow trek down Highway 1 pulling over constantly. There is hardy an inch of this highway that isn’t breathtaking. We gave ourselves three days to make our way from SF to LA but we could have easily stretched the trip out over the span of a couple weeks and never gotten bored.  We hiked, explored, ate yummy food, saw 100’s of elephant seals,  and even had our first “glamping” experience in a little tent bungalow complete with a queen size heated bed (Costanoa Lodge).  This stunningly diverse state was made for road trips and this is one I’ll never forget!  Thanks to may sweet husband for taking me here for my 30th birthday. :)

Best of 2012

We are almost one month into the new year, so I figured better late than never to recap some of my favorite images from 2012. Thank you to all of my fans, friends, and family, who helped me get my business started in ’12. You allowed me to point my camera into your lives, capturing moments that were special for me, and hopefully cherished by you.

Pioneer Saloon – A Bar Aged To Perfection

A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I took a trip to Las Vegas.  One night, we decided it was time to escape the bright lights and pandemonium of Sin City.  We took a drive, and found ourselves 35 miles south of the Strip at a 99 year old bar named the Pioneer Saloon, a bar aged to perfection, full of stories and new friends, and easily the best gamble we took during our vacation.  Over frosty mason jars filled with PBR, strangers quickly became friends, and we realized that this watering hole in Goodsprings, Nevada will always be our choice when we find ourselves parched in the dry Nevada desert.

Honeymoon Part I :: Santo Domingo

Honeymoon Part I :: Santo Domingo

Our main honeymoon destination was Las Terrenas on the Samaná peninsula of Dominican Republic. The closest airport for us to fly into is in Santo Domingo, so we figured we’d do some exploring around the nation’s capital for a day. Christopher Columbus founded this city in the late 1400’s and many of the buildings still stand today. We stayed at Hotel Atarazana. a super quaint 6 room hotel located in the heart of the Colonial Zone. The five century old buildings were pretty spectacular, but overall Santo Domingo is just a hot mess. Lots of poverty and overcrowding. It really made us thankful for what we have.
